The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has celebrated the appointment of former NANS National President and Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Students Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon, as the National Director of Student Engagement and Mobilization of the City Boy Movement.

The appointment has been described by the student body as another inspiring example of how student leadership can serve as a foundation for national service. Following the announcement, Comrade Asefon officially presented his appointment letter to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, while reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment and student engagement.

According to NANS Southwest Zone D, Asefon's political and leadership journey continues to inspire thousands of Nigerian students who aspire to contribute meaningfully to governance and nation-building.

Speaking on behalf of the Zone, the Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), congratulated the former student leader, noting that the appointment reflects years of consistency, dedication and selfless service to Nigerian students.

He stated that Asefon has continued to demonstrate that leadership does not end after leaving office but evolves into greater opportunities to influence policies that benefit young people.

The association expressed optimism that his new assignment would further strengthen youth inclusion, encourage civic participation and create more opportunities for collaboration between government and student stakeholders.

NANS Southwest also urged young Nigerians to remain committed to excellence, noting that purposeful leadership, integrity and service remain the pathway to national relevance.

The student body concluded by praying for wisdom, strength and outstanding success as Comrade Sunday Asefon begins another chapter of public service.
