Affected students of the University of Ilesa have received a major boost following their reinstatement and the resolution of long-running NYSC mobilisation challenges.

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Southwest Zone D, announced the development on Monday, September 7, 2026, while commending the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Prof. Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu.

NANS Southwest Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, popularly known as Billioncodes, said the association had earlier intervened in the cases of students affected by rustication and graduates who had experienced delays in their National Youth Service Corps mobilisation.

Adeyemo said Prof. Asaolu had assured the student representatives during their engagement that the cases would receive attention.

The affected students were later reinstated.

In a further development, Adeyemo said confirmation from the Directorate of Student Affairs showed that Adedoyin Temitope, also known as Aregbe, and other affected graduates had now been uploaded to the NYSC Senate List.

The development means the affected graduates can proceed with the necessary steps towards national service.

Adeyemo described the outcome as important because it directly affects the future and progression of the students involved.

He said the willingness of the university administration to reconsider the issues demonstrated the value of dialogue between students and school management.

The NANS Coordinator also argued that student bodies have a responsibility to recognise positive actions by institutions just as they challenge decisions considered unfavourable to students.

He thanked Prof. Asaolu, the University Management, the Directorate of Student Affairs and other officials involved in resolving the matters.

NANS Southwest also congratulated Adedoyin Temitope and the other affected students, encouraging them to use the new opportunity responsibly.

“A promise made to students has become a promise kept,” Adeyemo said.
