CONVENTION UPDATE

The Southwest Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has returned from the Abuja National Convention with a monumental victory, securing two key positions in the National Executive Council.

The zone produced the highest-ranking officer of the association, with Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez (BABTEE) being elected as the National President. In a further display of regional strength, Comrade Alao John emerged as the National Financial Secretary, taking the seat unopposed.

The "Abuja Storm" was spearheaded by the NANS Southwest Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (Billioncodes), who successfully mobilized the six states of the zone—Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo, and Oyo—into a cohesive voting bloc.

The Zonal leadership noted that this result is a direct reflection of the zone's capacity and unwavering influence.

"Under the purposeful and result-driven leadership of Comrade Billioncodes, the entire delegation moved with a clear vision, returning victoriously with two prestigious offices," the executive statement noted.

The Student Gazette reliably gathered that the victory has sparked widespread jubilation across Southwest campuses. The zonal leadership expressed confidence that the emergence of Babtee and Alao John will usher in a "new era of purposeful representation" and transformative leadership for the millions of Nigerian students.

NANS Southwest reaffirmed its commitment to the new administration, promising to work closely with the national body to advance the interests of Nigerian students nationwide.
