The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has announced plans to mobilise student leaders across Ogun State following the killing of Ahmed Sekinat, an HND II Marketing student of D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic.

The association described the incident as devastating, noting that students can no longer pursue education under constant fear of violent attacks around campuses and student hostels.

NANS disclosed that its leadership will visit the affected community before holding engagements with security authorities to seek immediate action on unresolved security concerns.

Among the demands are stronger patrols around tertiary institutions, improved protection for student residential areas, and swift justice for victims of violent crimes.

The association urged students to remain calm and disciplined during the mobilisation, emphasizing that the intervention is intended to protect lives rather than disrupt public peace.

Student leaders also appealed to security agencies to treat the safety of tertiary institution communities as a priority before more innocent lives are lost.
