The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has appealed to students across the Southwest, particularly those of Osun State University, to remain peaceful following the Nigerian Army's decision to investigate allegations of assault involving some of its personnel.

The development follows an official response from the Depot Nigerian Army, Osogbo, confirming that a formal investigation has been ordered into the incident. The Army also invited NANS Southwest to submit available evidence and witness testimonies to support the inquiry.

NANS Southwest encouraged students who witnessed the incident or were directly affected to retain videos, photographs, medical reports, and other evidence that may assist investigators in establishing the facts.

The association noted that justice would depend on credible testimonies and urged students to cooperate fully with the ongoing process.

Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), assured students that the association would actively monitor the investigation while ensuring that every affected student receives a fair hearing.

He emphasized that embracing dialogue does not diminish NANS' commitment to protecting students but reflects confidence in lawful processes capable of delivering lasting justice.

Although the student body welcomed the Army's response, it stressed that accountability remains the ultimate objective. NANS said it would continue engaging relevant authorities until justice is served and the concerns of affected students are satisfactorily addressed.
