The leadership of the National Association of Health Information Management Students (NAHIMS), Osun State College of Health Technology (OSCOHEALTH), Ilesa Chapter, has officially withdrawn its earlier petition concerning the outcome of the recent professional licensing examination.

The decision followed what the association described as a constructive engagement with the Head of Department, Mrs. Oluwatosin Abiodun Busoye, during which detailed clarifications were provided regarding the circumstances surrounding the examination results.

In a public disclaimer issued by the association, NAHIMS stated that it had become evident that the disappointing examination outcome was not caused by negligence or a lack of commitment on the part of the Head of Department.

According to the statement, the department's leadership made considerable efforts under difficult circumstances, despite the final results falling below students' expectations.

"We acknowledge that she demonstrated commitment and did her possible best under the circumstances, even though the result did not meet expectations. In light of this, we hereby officially withdraw the earlier petition."

One of the major outcomes of the engagement is the decision that class contributions and other related fees paid by students will be refunded to members of the class.

NAHIMS described the move as a demonstration of transparency, accountability, and the department's willingness to address students' concerns in a responsible manner.

The association also praised Mrs. Busoye for personally encouraging affected students and urging them not to lose hope despite the setback.

While acknowledging the disappointment experienced by students, NAHIMS urged members of the department to remain united and focused on future academic and professional success.

The association reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement, mutual understanding, and continuous improvement within the department, expressing optimism that lessons from the experience would contribute to better outcomes in the future.
